iCloud Activation Lock for Apple iPhone / iPad / iPod

iFixed icloud activation lockWith the UK constantly changing their mobile phones, it’s no surprise that there are so many used devices on the market! Because of this, many used phone and tablet buyers are discovering iCloud issues when purchasing used devices. This is because previously used devices can still be locked to iCloud when sold either without the previous owner realising or without them telling you.

iCloud accounts can be removed in a variety of ways:

-Before the iPhone, iPad or iPod is reset by going to Settings/iCloud and Deleting the account.

-Once the iPhone, iPad or iPod is reset by entering the previous owners iCloud details when setting up the device.

-By visiting www.iCloud.com and removing the device from the previous owners iCloud.

  1. Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
  2. Click All Devices to open a list of devices linked to their account, then select the device to be removed. It should show a gray dot or the word “Offline” next to the device name.
  3. Click “Remove from Account” to remove the device from their account.

The last two options can only be done with the users iCloud details so be sure to check that the device has been removed from iCloud prior to resetting, or ensure they can clear the device if necessary.

If the user is unwilling to cooperate with the iCloud account then it may be best to leave the device alone. If you are unsure whether a device is locked or not, you can always visit https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/ to check the status of a device.

If a device is locked and the user is unaware or unhappy to cooperate then it is possible that the device is lost or stolen. In the event of this, it is advised that you leave the device where it is! If you are trying to purchase a device without iCloud, then please be sure to visit our store to view a range of refurbished handsets all clear of iCloud!
